A Legend Passes

William David Friedkin passed away at the age of 87 on August 7th, 2023.

The lasting impact of his work on the horror genre can’t be overstated. He was the mastermind behind the 1973 adaptation of William Peter Batty’s 1971 novel The Exorcist. I can’t say that the film scared me as much as others, but it is still one of the most unsettling ones I've ever seen.

Obviously he had a wonderful career but what he did with horror with always be what resonates with me.

If you haven’t watch The Exorcist, stop reading this and go watch it. Enjoy it.

Thank you, Mr. Friedkin for what you’ve given the horror community.
